that is on the 25th June

and

we think this is a very material fact when

you

come to

consider the case that was

the 21st

afterward made against the prisoner.

Upon 1st June Kwan Pok (how) Justice at Reeking sends for Ku Foon and

tells him to come down to

Hongkong to identify the prisoner.

Upon the same date the

Justice at Tingki about ten miles from Reeking, sends for

a man named Kwan Kean and Chan Fong.

Upon the 22nd

22nd June Kwan

Pok (how) sends again for them

Kwan Kean and Chan Fong and sends also

for the first time for Kwan Shap

The two witnesses Kwan Kean and Chan Fong arrive in Hongkong 24th June and the specific charge is made by

the solicitor for the prosecution

on the

morning

of the 25th and he then says

that his other witness will not be down until the 29th June

As a matter of fact however

his witness

Kwan Shap

arrived

in Hong Kong

on the 25th and

all three of the witnesses were living together with Kwan Pok and his solicitor from the 25th to the 29th June the latter being

the date

on which the three witnesses were taken into the

gaol to identify the prisoner.
